Rita Ora recently celebrated her 33rd birthday in her birthplace, Prishtina, Kosovo, marking the occasion with an inspiring and emotional meeting with Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. During the visit, Ora hinted at upcoming projects for the next year, although she did not disclose specific details. The meeting focused on exploring collaboration opportunities to promote Albanian culture internationally through young artists, musicians, and directors.
Ora was accompanied by her husband, New Zealand director and actor Taika Waititi, who expressed his admiration for Prishtina, comparing its energy and people’s attitude to his homeland. The visit was also graced by actress and producer Odessa Rae, known for her work on the Oscar-winning documentary “Navalny,” Ora’s father, Besnik Sahatçiu, and her sister, Elena Ora. The gathering discussed the development of Kosovo’s film industry and potential film cooperation, particularly with France.
Rita Ora emphasized her desire to deepen her engagement and support for young artists from Kosovo, especially in music and film. She has been an Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo since 2015, and her unannounced visit to Prishtina was warmly welcomed at the Adem Jashari International Airport by the mayor, Përparim Rama.
Ora’s previous visit to Prishtina had a humanitarian aspect involving a campaign with UNICEF. She also performed in 2018 at a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence Day, an event that notably amplified Kosovo’s image on the global stage.
